Course Description
Studying Spanish, French, Russian and or Turkish will help pupils to communicate and to understand the foreign language in speech and writing. It will benefit them when they come into contact with French, Russian, Turkish and Spanish speaking people both at home and abroad. In addition, they will learn about the culture of the countries where these languages are spoken. Learning a language is an essential skill and a real asset when it comes to applying for jobs in later life.

Assessment
The Pearson Edexcel Level 1/Level 2 GCSE (9-1) in French, Spanish, Russian and Turkish consists of four externally examined papers based on the following skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students must complete their speaking assessment in April/May and all other assessments in May/June in any single year.

Course Duration
The GCSE French, Spanish, Turkish or Russian is a two-year program. During the two years of studies, students will have access to live online classes as well as they will have academic mentor support and, one to one subject support.
Course Outcome
International GCSEs in modern languages enable successful progression to Level 3 qualifications.
Entry Requirements
- Students whose English is not their first language, are required to either sit an internal English assessment or provide an English certificate at a min level B2 in all components.
- Knowledge of the chosen subject at A2 level.

How many hours a week are students expected to study?
Students are required to undertake 6 hours of self-study per subject. In addition, students will also be required to attend 50 min of live lessons per subjects
