The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Mathematics (Specification A) is a linear qualification. It consists of two examinations available at Foundation and Higher Tier. Both examinations must be taken in the same series at the end of the course of study.The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Maths courses (Specification A) qualification enable students to: Examination based. Assessment will occur either at a British Council office or an approved Edexcel Centre in your home country. It consists of tiers of entry (Foundation and Higher) that allow students to be entered for the appropriate level, with questions designed to be accessible to students of all abilities in that tier and papers balanced for topics and difficulty.

Foundation Tier

Externally assessedTwo papers: 1F and 2F Each paper is assessed through a 2-hour examination set and marked by Pearson. Each paper is 50% of the total International GCSE. Approximately 40% of questions will be targeted at grades 5 and 4, across papers 1F and 1H to aid the standardisation and comparability of awards between tiers.

Higher Tier

Externally assessedTwo papers: 1H and 2H Each paper is assessed through a 2-hour examination set and marked by Pearson. Each paper is 50% of the total International GCSE. Each paper will have approximately 40% of the marks distributed evenly over grades 4 and 5 and approximately 60% of the marks distributed evenly over grades 6, 7, 8 and 9. Approximately 40% of questions will be targeted at grades 5 and 4, across papers 2F and 2H, to aid standardisation and comparability of awards between tiers. International online GCSE Maths course A is a two-year program. During the two years of studies, students will have access to live online classes and one-to-one subject support. Upon completion of the Maths GCSE online courses, students will achieve an Edexcel qualification ( providing that all exams have been completed and passed). The final certificate will allow students to apply for A-level and beyond.
