The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Russian develops students' ability to communicate confidently in Russian across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Overview
Studying Russian at IGCSE level helps students communicate effectively in one of the world's most widely spoken languages. Students develop skills across all four language areas and gain an understanding of Russian-speaking cultures.
What Students Study
Our Russian GCSE online course follows the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE specification. Students develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through live interactive lessons in small groups, alongside guided independent study and regular feedback from experienced teachers.

Course Details
Assessment
Assessment is split equally across four papers, each worth 25% of the final grade. Paper 1: Listening and Understanding. Paper 2: Speaking. Paper 3: Reading and Understanding. Paper 4: Writing. Speaking exams take place in April/May. All other exams are scheduled for May/June at an approved exam centre.
Course Duration
The IGCSE Russian is a two-year programme. During those two years, students have access to live online classes, academic mentor support, and one-to-one subject support.
Course Outcome
International GCSE qualifications enable successful progression onto International A Level and beyond. Upon completing the course, students will achieve a Pearson Edexcel qualification, providing that all examinations have been completed and passed.
Entry Requirements
No prior knowledge of Russian is required to begin this course. Students whose English is not their first language are required to either sit an internal English assessment or provide an English certificate at a minimum level B2.
