Why Study A Level Further Mathematics With Us?

Further Mathematics extends and deepens mathematical knowledge beyond standard A Level content. It is highly valued by top universities and is especially recommended for students interested in mathematics, physics, engineering, or computer science.

Oxford Online School’s International A Level Further Mathematics course is designed for online learners, homeschoolers, and international students who wish to engage with advanced topics in a structured, well-supported environment.

Real-Time Support From UK-Based Further Mathematics Teachers

Our lessons are taught live by specialist UK-based teachers with extensive experience in advanced mathematics education. Using the flipped learning model, students engage with pre-lesson content to maximise in-class time for problem-solving and advanced reasoning.

All full-time students are automatically enrolled in our UPP (University Preparation and Progression) programme. This includes:

  • One-to-one academic mentoring
  • Participation in our Cosmopolitan Future extracurricular programme
  • Completion of the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which is compulsory for all full-time students

Mentors work closely with maths faculty to track progress and support students applying to STEM degrees.

What You’ll Study

This course follows the Pearson Edexcel International A Level (IAL) specification and includes modules in:

  • Further Pure Mathematics 1 & 2 – complex numbers, proof, matrices, series, functions
  • Further Mechanics – circular motion, momentum, work and energy, collisions
  • Further Statistics – Poisson and binomial distributions, hypothesis testing, chi-squared tests
  • Decision Mathematics – algorithms, graph theory, linear programming, critical path analysis

Students will develop mathematical fluency, logical reasoning, and strategic thinking through extended problem sets and advanced theoretical exercises.

Exam Board & How You’ll Be Graded

Oxford Online School follows the Pearson Edexcel International A Level (IAL) specification for Further Mathematics. This modular qualification is assessed entirely through written examination.

We support students with:

  • Weekly homework and topic reviews
  • Termly projects and extension problems
  • Mock exams with structured feedback

Our teachers help students prepare for exam success and the academic rigour expected at university level.

Structured Online Learning With Excellent Results

Lessons are delivered live and are not recorded, enabling full participation and real-time feedback.

We offer:

  • Small class sizes for advanced academic discussion
  • UPP programme support with personalised mentoring
  • Flipped learning for optimal lesson preparation
  • Weekly assignments and regular assessments
  • Mock exam practice and diagnostic feedback
  • Optional entry into mathematics competitions and challenges
