Why families in Romania choose us

Scheduled live lessons, every school day
Lessons are scheduled across the UK school week and led by subject specialists. Students join each class live, take part and get guidance as they work, following a steady routine with clear progression. From Year 10, recordings are available to support revision and independent study.
When lessons run for students in Romania
Romania uses Eastern European Time, two hours ahead of the UK in winter and three hours ahead in summer. Because lessons follow UK hours, the school day runs from early afternoon into the evening for students in Romania. Download the time zone guide to see how the weekly timetable maps to local time.

Families we work with in Romania

Oxford Online School teaches from Year 4 through to Year 13. Each stage is led by subject specialists on a structured timetable, whether your child is in primary, working towards GCSEs or preparing for A Levels and university.
Home education rules in Romania
Home education sits in a grey area under Romanian law and is not formally recognised as a route within the national system. Families have traditionally enrolled children with an accredited school based abroad, but this position has come under increasing scrutiny since 2024, with some families using foreign distance schools facing challenges from the authorities. For this reason, we strongly recommend taking legal advice on your specific obligations before relying on Oxford Online School as your child's main education in Romania. Our admissions team is happy to discuss how we can help within that context.
