British schooling, run live from Oxford
We are a fully online British school based in Oxford. Students follow a timetabled day of live lessons with qualified teachers, progressing through the British curriculum from primary level through to A Levels. We work with a growing number of families in Ireland who want a structured British academic pathway alongside, or instead of, the Irish system.
What families in Ireland tell us matters most

A UK timetable, running smoothly from Ireland
Students join scheduled live lessons across the UK school week, each taught by a subject specialist. Because Ireland shares the same time zone as the UK, lessons fall at the same local time as they would for a family based in England or Wales, with no adjustment needed. From Year 10, lesson recordings are also available to support revision.
Why Ireland fits the timetable perfectly
Ireland shares the same time zone as the UK throughout the year, including matching seasonal clock changes. This means Oxford Online School's timetable runs at exactly the same local time for families in Ireland as it does for families in the UK, with nothing to work around. Download the time zone guide if you would like the full weekly schedule in one place.

Who Oxford Online School suits in Ireland
Oxford Online School works well for families in Ireland who want a British qualification pathway alongside or instead of the Irish curriculum, families home educating who are registered with Tusla and want a structured, live-taught option, and families balancing school with sport, performing arts or other significant commitments. Our admissions team can help you understand whether it is the right fit for your child.
Every stage, from Year 4 to Year 13
Oxford Online School teaches full time from Year 4 through to Year 13. Whether your child is building primary foundations, working towards GCSEs or preparing for A Levels, there is a structured programme led by subject specialists at every stage.
What families in Ireland should know before enrolling
Home education is a constitutional right in Ireland, and families who educate outside a recognised school must register with Tusla's Alternative Education Assessment and Registration Service under Section 14 of the Education (Welfare) Act 2000. There is no set curriculum families are required to follow, but Tusla will assess that a child is receiving a certain minimum education. Families using Oxford Online School as their child's main education in Ireland should complete Tusla registration in the usual way. Our admissions team can talk through your situation and how Oxford Online School fits alongside it.
