Live online school, built around your child

A structured online education without the fixed timetable of a traditional school.

Live online school, built around your child
Who is it for

Is this right for your family?

Oxford Online School suits a wide range of families and circumstances. Whether you're new to online education or have been considering it for a while, the best way to know if it works for your child is to see it in practice.

Relocating or returning to the UK

If your family is relocating or returning to the UK, keeping your child's education on track can be difficult. We give students continuity of structured, British curriculum learning from anywhere.

High-achieving students

Students who are ready to move quickly through material often get more from smaller classes where teachers can stretch and challenge them directly. Our class sizes mean that able students get the attention and pace they need.

Smaller classes, more attention

With classes of around ten students, there's more room for teachers to notice how each child is getting on, adjust their approach and give feedback that actually reflects the individual.

Anxiety, bullying & school refusal

For some students, a traditional school environment has become difficult to manage. A calmer, more structured online setting can make it easier to re-engage with learning.

Balancing school with other commitments

Our structured online model means students can keep up with their education without having to choose between school and their commitments.

Students who need a calmer setting

Some students learn better with more space, a quieter environment and a slower pace. Smaller classes and a structured online setting can suit students who find busy classrooms difficult.

How it works

A smarter way to learn

Oxford Online School combines the structure of a traditional British school day with the practical advantages of learning online. Live lessons, small classes and regular teacher contact mean students stay on track academically while families keep the flexibility they need.

Step 1

Next steps

What to expect after you enquire

Once you get in touch, the admissions team will contact you to arrange a conversation about your child and what you're looking for. From there, we'll guide you through the next steps at a pace that works for your family.

Consultation & pathway planning

We start with a conversation about your child: their current level, goals, preferred pace, and any circumstances that require flexibility.

We then recommend the right academic pathway.

  • A recommended programme (full-time or part-time)
  • Subject options and weekly expectations
  • A clear route to IGCSE and A Levels where relevant

Timetable and learning plan

Once enrolled, your child receives a timetable and learning plan.

Lessons run live online and are structured so students can learn consistently each week.

  • How many lessons happen weekly
  • How work is set and submitted
  • What the typical weekly rhythm looks like

Ongoing support & reporting

Students are supported through their programme with regular feedback, monitoring, and progress reporting.

  • Teacher feedback on work
  • Regular assessments
  • Termly reports (and additional touchpoints where needed)
  • Guidance on next steps and course choices
Responsibilities

What the school handles, and what you handle at home

We take responsibility for teaching, assessment and academic support. As a parent, you provide the home environment that makes it possible. Here's how that looks in practice.

Live teacher-led online lessons

Parents

As a parent, you provide a quiet, consistent space for your child to attend lessons and complete work. You help maintain a daily routine that keeps them on track, and when the time comes, you arrange an approved exam centre for external assessments. The school will support you through that process.

Clear timetable and terms

School

Our teachers plan and deliver every lesson, cover the full curriculum and mark student work throughout the year. We track each student's progress, share regular feedback and provide guidance on next steps. If your child needs additional support at any point, the school team is there to help.

Quick tip

Your legal responsibility as a parent

In the UK, parents are legally responsible for ensuring their child receives a suitable full-time education from the age of five. Choosing to home educate, or to use an online school as your primary provision, does not change that responsibility. It simply means you are fulfilling it in a different way.

Our offering

Choose the programme that fits

Each session is personalised to your questions, ensuring you leave with a full understanding of our programmes, support, and how online learning works.

Full Programme

Our full-time programme is designed for families who want a complete alternative to traditional school. Students attend live lessons throughout the week and receive full support. This suits students who benefit from routine, clear expectations and a planned route to qualifications.

Flexible Programme

This part-time, flexible programme works well for families combining online learning with sport, performing arts, travel or local provision. Students study a selected range of subjects on a reduced timetable, with the same structured teaching and feedback as the full programme.

Exam Years Programme

For students in Years 10 to 13, this programme provides structured, exam-focused teaching with clear accountability built in. It includes regular assessments, mock preparation and progress reporting throughout the year.

Exams and private candidates

Many homeschooled students sit exams as private candidates at approved exam centres. We help families understand timelines, what's required, and how to plan ahead.

  • Choosing the best exam pathway (IGCSE / A Level)
  • Guidance on typical exam entry timelines
  • Advice on how to approach finding a suitable exam centre
  • Support with planning mock exams and revision structure
