How examination entry works
Entering examinations

How examination entry works

Enrolling at Oxford Online School does not automatically complete the examination registration process. The school supports families through examination entries, but students must ensure all required information and documentation are submitted within published deadlines for each examination series.

The school primarily offers International GCSEs (IGCSEs) and International A Levels (IALs). Some subjects may be offered as GCSE or A Level qualifications depending on the subject and awarding body.

Examination fees

Examination entry fees are included within the school fees. If a student withdraws from an examination after the awarding body withdrawal deadline, the family may remain liable for the cost of that entry.

However, additional charges may apply in certain circumstances, including:

  • Late examination entry requests
  • Changes made after registration deadlines
  • Second registrations following missed withdrawal deadlines
  • Additional examination centre administration charges
Examination fees
Invigilation costs

Invigilation and exam centre fees

Examination invigilation fees are not included within tuition fees. Parents and guardians are responsible for costs associated with examination centre invigilation and Pearson Remote Invigilation (RI), where applicable. These charges vary depending on the examination centre, qualification, country and examination format.

Where students take their examinations

Certain International GCSE examinations may be available through Pearson's Remote Invigilation Service, allowing eligible students to complete examinations from home. Students may sit examinations through:

  • An approved local examination centre
  • A partner examination centre
  • Online remote invigilation services where permitted by the awarding body
Your responsibilities

What families need to manage

The school provides guidance throughout the process, but there are several areas families are responsible for managing directly. This includes ensuring all registration information submitted to the school is correct and up to date.

Examination deadlines

Examination entries must be submitted within published deadlines for each series.

ID requirements

Check whether a passport or other identification is required for your child's qualification.

External fees

Invigilation and exam centre fees are the responsibility of the family and are not covered by tuition fees.

Awarding body regulations

Families should check the awarding body regulations relevant to their child's qualification and examination series.
